Tim Norman, Associate Pastor

In his early teens, Tim was challenged by the question of meaning behind the material world and the beauty and order that is there. This led to a period of exploration and discovery, in getting to know Jesus Christ as friend and Lord.

Coming from a background in Chemical research, Tim has a particular interest in the interaction between science, philosophy and religion. This interest was greatly encouraged during studies at Cambridge University and a PhD in Chemistry at University College, London.

He was a Pastoral Assistant at St Barnabas Church, Kensington before training for ordination at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. This was followed by a time as Lay Pastor at St Aldate’s Church in Oxford before becoming curate at Chipping Norton. Prior to coming to St Mark’s, he was Assistant Chaplain at St Michael’s Church, Paris.

Vanessa Norman's faith came alive while studying at Oxford - challenged both by the writings of Dante, and as she began to read the Bible with friends whose Christian faith clearly made a difference in their lives. Their son, Samuel, was born in April 2003.
