Christmas Fair - December '09

The idea of the Christmas Fair was to have a fun time pre-Christmas as a church family and to bring in as many people as possible from outside the church to introduce them to our church in an unthreatening way.  A by-product of this was to also raise money for the REACH project (over 2,500€).

The upstairs foyer was transformed by many helping hands into a traditional Christmas Market.  The tables were groaning under the weight of homemade cakes, beautiful handmade craft items and those hard-to-get UK Christmas items like crackers, Christmas puddings and mincepies.   The wafting odour of mulled wine and Christmas carols helped to complete the Christmas atmosphere.

The Coffee Pot mums did an outstanding job organising a mini fair for the under 10s downstairs with stalls for Mums, Dads, Brothers, Sisters and Babies - all with ready wrapped gifts for 2€ each - and fun activities for the kids.  So as not to forget the real reason for Christmas Beki Lambert organised a Christingle Service for the children after their fair and Debs Ferrero gave a candy cane with an explanation of its symbolism to every person who visited the fair.
